Car Electric Works

EVs receive energy from a charging station and store the energy in its battery. The battery gives power to the motor which moves the wheels. Many electrical parts work together in the background to make this motion happen. AC motors are the most commonly used in electric cars, as they offer better efficiency and are easier to control. However, DC motors are still used in some electric cars, especially in older models or smaller vehicles

Auto Maintenance FAQs

Your car’s electrical system consists of the battery, starter, and alternator. The three parts collectively work to power your vehicle and its electrical components (radio, interior/exterior lights, power seats, etc.).
There are three main types of circuits: power, ground, and signal. The power circuit supplies electricity to all the other circuits in the car. In contrast, the ground circuit provides a path for electricity to flow back to the battery.
The battery pack in an EV sends electricity to a controller which runs the car’s electric motor or motors. Think of the battery as a device that stores chemical energy and converts it into electricity. Inside, the battery is made up of electrochemical cells and each cell has two half-cells that are called electrodes.
They employ ‘fuel cell technology’ to generate the electricity required to run the vehicle. The chemical energy of the fuel is converted directly into electric energy.
